DESTINATION WEDDING INVITATION TIMELINE
Destination weddings have a unique way of stopping time in a particular moment and saying: Let’s not forget this! BUT… before you get to enjoy one of the most beautiful days of your life, one of the aspects you will be required to pay serious attention to is that of preparing and sending out your wedding invitations. To help you make this process a breeze Simply Unique has designed the most efficient Destination Wedding Invitation Timeline.
HERE’S WHAT TO DO WHEN
11-12 MONTHS AHEAD
Save the Dates: Arrange a Skype call with your wedding planner and your graphic designer to begin developing your stationery vision, discuss the aesthetics, the pricing and the advantages of each particular invitation suite style.
10-11 MONTHS AHEAD
When planning a destination wedding the best time to mail your Save The Dates is now. Your guests may require a bit of time to confirm their attendance, check the flights available, the accommodations to be booked and get back to you. Make certain you ask them to RSVP with a special piece inside your invitation suite.
6-8 MONTHS AHEAD
If you are scheduling a destination wedding closer to home, now is the time to send out those invites.
6 MONTHS AHEAD
Schedule an online meeting with your destination wedding planner and talk about the final details of your destination events, your welcome dinner or cocktail, as well as your post-wedding activities. As these events may require their own special printables into your wedding welcome gifts (maps, cards, etc) the graphic designer appointed should be able to create these now.
3 MONTHS AHEAD
Day Of The Wedding Pieces: Make an appointment with your wedding designer to discuss the final details of your menu cards, table numbers, escort cards, programs, thank you cards, welcome board and other signage.
Mail your pre-wedding, post-wedding, wedding dinner and rehearsal dinner invitations! Your guests will need to know what to expect and what to pack in their suitcases in order to dress accordingly. Nobody would like to show up to a pool party wearing a gown.
2 MONTHS AHEAD
By this time you will already be receiving your RSVPs in order to confirm your final guest count for the pre/post wedding activities.
ON THE WEDDING DAY
This is the day you have been waiting for. Every guest knows exactly what to expect and you are to only ease and enjoy your celebration to the fullest!
2-3 WEEKS AFTER THE WEDDING
Thank You Cards send out. If you haven’t already added a Thank You Note or Card into the send away gift to your guests, now is the time to contact your wedding designer and order the gratitude notes (perhaps with your new monogram as husband and wife).
1-2 MONTHS AFTER THE WEDDING
Mail your Thank You Cards and if your wedding images are ready a link to your wedding gallery for them to download photographs from your celebrations.
